Jersey
City and the New York Condo BUZZ Website
Jersey City was added to the New York Condo BUZZ
simply because of its close proximity to New York
City property market. The New Jersey real estate
district at Jersey City features a population of
almost 250,000 and recovering nicely from a steep
drop off in the mid-1990s. The Jersey City New Jersey
real estate market place features ten distinct districts
or neighborhoods that include The Heights, Waterfront,
Paulus Hook, MinGinley Square, Hackensack Riverfront,
Historic Downtown Jersey City, Greenville, West
Side, Journal square, Western Slope, Liberty State
Park and Bergen/Lafayette districts. Most of these
New Jersey City real estate neighborhoods are within
close proximity to New York by way of the tunnel
or by boat, and make this an affordable alternative
for many NYC homebuyers. With a great ethnic mix
and diverse cultures, the residents of Jersey City
real estate market are very different in terms of
class, culture and lifestyle, which makes this property
market very unique from the New York boroughs. However,
with many developers focused on redeveloping the
prime Jersey City New Jersey waterfront district,
these affordable New York condo alternatives are
striking homebuyers in the right way and attracting
young singles, couples and growing families into
this burgeoning community. Labeled as an up and
coming New York property investment option for Manhattan
residents, the new Jersey City condos and luxury
condominiums have always been much more affordable
and spacious then their counterparts across the
Hudson River. With great waterfront Jersey City
condo real estate for sale right now in new high-rise
and low-rise apartment buildings, it is no wonder
that sales volumes are up and property values are
rebounding quite nicely in this ‘sixth’
borough of the New York real estate marketplace. |

The
Hot Jersey City Condo Development Districts
Many parts of Jersey City, New Jersey are being
redeveloped and revitalized by urban developers
and builders right now. With the hopes of attracting
a new middle class population from Brooklyn and
Manhattan, city council is looking to improve the
condo housing stock and to master plan the waterfront
Jersey City real estate district that offers incredible
lifestyle choices, recreational activities as well
as views of the downtown Manhattan skyline. First
up is Downtown Jersey City real estate which is
home to the majority of apartment buildings and
some new luxury condo developments. The redevelopment
of both the Exchange Place and Newport waterfront
Jersey City property districts have been successful
in moving middle class homeowners and property investors
into New Jersey and Newport Jersey City is a great
mixed use community complete with residential condos,
retail, commercial and office space, making it very
stable. The redevelopment of Exchange Place Jersey
City real estate has also been a great success with
homebuyers flocking to snatch up these affordable
New Jersey condo properties. There are historic
designated areas in downtown Jersey City real estate
market (which means that redevelopment is not an
option), and these include Hamilton Park, Harsimus
Cove and Van Vorst Park which are well known for
their beautiful heritage brownstone homes. The second
neighborhood in New Jersey City is Journal Square
which is home to some older medium density, low
rise apartments for sale and rent. Not much has
been happening here in terms of revitalization,
but there are plans to clean up the area to make
it more attractive to property investors and New
York homebuyers. The Art Deco buildings are situated
in the Bergen/Lafayette neighborhood, while the
Jersey Heights real estate market place that overlooks
Hoboken is a prime spot for couples and growing
families. With spectacular Edwardian and Victorian
two/three bedroom homes, The Jersey City Heights
real estate district is well known for their middle
class residents, upscale residences and parks, making
it a very attractive place to buy real estate and
to call home. Greenville Jersey City neighborhood
is also called ‘The Hill’ ad is primarily
commercial, but also includes the prestigious Port
Liberte real estate development along the Hudson
River waterfront area. Lastly, there is the West
Side of New Jersey City property district as well. |

Jersey
City Accessibility Is Unmatched
Although Jersey City is situated along the west
bank of the Hudson River, on the other side of Manhattan,
the transportation routes and accessibility to and
from this area is spectacular. The Holland Tunnel
makes it way from Canal Street Manhattan all the
way into downtown Jersey City, making this route
a favorite amongst Jersey City homeowners who commute
to Manhattan for work every day. There are also
tones of freeways and highways that connect you
to New Jersey and New York. Another reason why New
Jersey City real estate is a great investment potential
for New York homebuyers and property investors is
the fact that there are a total of three rail lines
that service the area including: Hoboken Terminal
– New Jersey Transit System, PATH and the
Hudson-Bergen Light Rail System. For another way
to get to downtown Manhattan or other communities
in Jersey City, you can also opt for the BillyBey
Ferry or the Liberty Water Taxi. Some of New Jersey’s
top public and private schools are located in Jersey
City, which is the second largest city in the state
after Newark. In addition, there are 3 newspapers
published and released in Jersey City that includes
the Jersey Journal, Jersey City Reporter and the
Hudson Dispatch. |
